Once upon a time in Moscow & St. Petersburg, a mythical woman named Mari Vanna welcomed diners into her home with open arms, feeding them traditional Russian fare on her finest china and linens. All were welcome and frequent visitors were graced with a key of their own to return whenever they wished to that cozy retreat. Laden with extraordinary attention to detail, Mari Vanna will immediately transport each guest into an archetypal Russian home adorned with trinkets and tchotchke, including the iconic Russian Bear, stacking dolls and Cheburashka, bookshelves filled with Russian literature, elaborate chandeliers hung far and wide and crystal bowls of Sushki, a traditional Russian tea bread, placed on each table. Reminiscent of pre and post Soviet Union Russia, the wallpaper peels back to show the generations that have passed. A manicured garden of flowers and herbs fills the open floor-to-ceiling windows at the front of the restaurant, while a wood-burning oven rests in the corner waiting for the cold winter months. Complementing the authentic fare is a vodka program like none other, featuring dozens of top-shelf Russian vodka, as well as selections from all over the world. Mari Vanna’s Chef has developed 20 varieties of infused Russian vodka with sweet and savory ingredients, such as Oats & Honey, Apricot, Watermelon, Pineapple and even Beet, displayed in giant canisters at the bar. Plenty of candlelight brings both fun and a romantic vibe to the 1st floor of Mari Vanna, and the open kitchen allows you to glimpse at our chefs preparing traditional Russian dishes. Specials for the Happy Hour offer multiple flavors of home-made infused vodka shots. The charming main dining area located on the 2nd floor, designed as the original home of Mari Vanna, welcomes diners with its cozy Royal and Tea rooms, while our balconies let you observe our 1st floor while relaxing on a cozy sofa. Accordionist Artem will bring a little more of Russian culture into your night by playing well-remembered (or newly recognized) Russian songs. Mari Vanna’s menu offers many classics, among which is the flavorful Borscht – a traditional Beet soup, prepared with Beef, Broth, Cabbage, Potatoes, and Carrots, garnished with Dill and Sour Cream on the side (Mari Vanna has an exceptional way of serving this masterpiece of Russian cuisine). Do not forget to sample the beloved Beef Stroganoff – Filet mignon Strips, cooked in creamy Mushroom Sauce and served with old-style Grechnaya Kasha. And what better way to end a unforgettable mean than with a stack of Blini and an assortment of sweet condiments – Homemade Jams, Honey, Sweetened Condensed Milk, and Nutella. And finally, for those who want to fully immerse in Russian culture, Mari Vanna has created an extraordinary selection of house infused vodkas. Ranging form sweet to savory to spicy, there is a perfect “ vodka match” for each guest. Naturally flavored with Horseradish, Pear & Vanilla, or Pickle & Garlic, Mari Vanna’s large vodka canisters cover the bar wall and dare everyone to find his favorite taste.
